Do you have an idea for an activity or event that could help build a stronger local community?

The Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust Community Fund empowers local individuals, groups and small organisations to launch their own community-building activities and events across Ebbsfleet and the neighbouring areas.

Grants of up to £500 for individuals or £1000 for constituted groups/organisations are awarded to projects that boost the health, wellbeing and community cohesion of all residents.

We have previously funded a board games group, summer fair, writing workshops, school holiday club, sports clubs, choirs, book clubs and more!

If you have an idea for a fun, inclusive, health-boosting activity, then we would love to hear from you.

Please note: If you are applying for funding for a time-sensitive project, your project must be scheduled to start at least four weeks after the relevant application round closes. Please make sure you apply to a funding round that allows enough time before your planned start date.

We strongly recommend that you read through the guidance notes below before starting your online application form. This will significantly improve your chance of success. If you’re new to grant writing you might also wish to watch our new ‘How to Apply’ video.

We have also provided templates that you can download and use to support your application.

Grant applications are accepted four times per year.

The next round closing deadline dates for 2026/27 are:

Round Two – 28th August 2026

Round Three – 20th November 2026

Round Four – 26th February 2027

Community Cohesion means to create opportunities, through various activities, that enables different groups within communities to get on well together.

Health and wellbeing refers to activities that promote healthier lifestyles, and helps people feel more socially connected, purposeful and happier.

Individuals, groups, associations, or charities can all apply.

We accept applications every quarter starting in April. See our website for more information.

You can apply multiple times, however, on occasion priority may be given to first time applicants.

Yes, you’ll find plenty of information on our website, you can attend a learning surgery or speak to someone.

The Community Fund offers grants of up to £500. However, in certain circumstances, established organisations and constituted groups may be offered up to £1000 to support their activity.

Your application will be reviewed by a coordinator and panel within two weeks after the closing date.

We are delighted to have collaborated with individuals, schools, charities, faith groups and more, to bring community projects that focus on community cohesion and health & wellbeing.
