A thriving community at Ebbsfleet where all people, of all generations, can live healthy and fulfilled lives.
Our Vision
To achieve our vision Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust will use its buildings, assets, and resources to enable local residents and businesses to create inclusive and sustainable neighbourhoods by promoting good health and well-being, leisure, arts and culture, quality lifelong learning, high environmental standards and innovation in business.
Summed up to be the “best place to live in the South-East”
How we will achieve this
Managing Community Spaces
From 2026, over the next ten years, the Trust are expecting to take ownership, maintain and manage a number of a community buildings (such as the Ebbsfleet Green Community Hub, Neighbourhood House, Alkerden Hub etc …) as well as city parks, children’s play areas and other green spaces. The orchards located within the allotments, contain over 50 fruiting trees and will be available to residents from Summer 2024.
Placemaking
Placemaking is about making a place where people want to work, live and play – creating a strong sense of belonging, pride and commitment to the future of the area.
EDC have been working tirelessly to start this important element of the Garden City, and the Trust will continue to build on this. This includes the Community Fund initiative – which is the provision of grant funding to encourage and enable residents to run activities, which provide Community Cohesion or Health and Wellbeing.
The Trust will champion cultural diversity, accessibility for all and the empowerment of resident voices in all it’s activities.
Environment
By building a high quality and sustainable environment, residents and businesses will be supported in building green lifestyles, engaging with nature and green spaces. The Trust is a part of the Edible Ebbsfleet Network, promoting healthy lifestyles for all ages. The parks will be managed in a way to enhance the ecological and bio-diversity benefits of the area, as well as providing beautiful outdoor areas containing green open spaces, lakes and children’s play areas.
