We are an independent charitable Trust, set up to ensure Ebbsfleet Garden City is  looked after in a sustainable way, to meet the needs of the communities in and around the garden city.

About us

Ebbsfleet is the first garden city to be built in the UK in 100 years, and the board of trustees are delighted to have the opportunity to help shape how the Trust will manage the many beautiful and creative spaces (buildings and open areas), for the use of the communities in and around Ebbsfleet.

Initially established as a limited company in 2019 by EDC, it was decided that a charitable Trust was the most suitable way to ensure the needs of the community would be met, with all income to the Trust put back into the communities.

Ebbsfleet Garden City is turning into a thriving place to live for people of all generations, for work, rest and play. EDC have worked tirelessly to ensure that the community needs are understood and met as they develop the area. EGCT has taken on this mantel and look forward to continuing the vision of providing beautiful green landscapes, with attractive yet functional buildings.

For any area to thrive it also needs to provide local jobs and transport, whilst ensuring the educational, creative and health & leisure needs are met. An exciting arts and cultural scene will have Ebbsfleet identified as a desirable place to live.

Could you be our first CEO?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen within Ebbsfleet Garden City Trust.  We are recruiting our first Chief Executive.

This is a defining leadership role for someone with strong experience in community development, charitable leadership or social enterprise, and who is motivated by purpose, partnership and long‑term impact.

The Chief Executive will lead strategic delivery, steward a diverse portfolio of community assets, and help shape the future of one of the UK’s largest new communities. With responsibilities spanning business planning, community engagement, asset development, and financial sustainability, it’s an entrepreneurial role with real scope to influence place and people.
